Aliso Viejo Little League will be divided into nine divisions based upon player league age. See 2016 League Age Chart for details. The divisions are as follows:

The Junior and Senior Division will play according to 60/90 rules.

This year AVLL is excited to add this new division which will play according to Little League Intermediate (50/70) Baseball rules.
·Major/Intermediate Division 11 to 12 years old
This Division will be comprised of 12 year olds and selected 11 year olds. Teams in this division will play the first 12 games according to standard Little League Division (46/60) Rules. The teams will transition to Intermediate rules in the second half of the season. This is the same format as last year that was overwhelmingly well received. (Based upon the results of our end of the year surveys)
Minor divisions will be played according to the same format and rules that were used in previous years. The Age breakdown is as follows:
·AAA Division 9*** to 11 years old
·AA Division 8 to 10 years old
·A Division 7 to 9 years old
·Rookie Division 6 to 7 years old
·Tee Ball Division 4 to 6 years old****
* League age 14 year olds in High School have the option to play in the Junior or Senior division.
**League age 13 year olds can opt in to be eligible for the Junior division draft
***The Player Agent(s) and parent of a child may collectively designate a “qualified” league age 9 year-old player to be eligible for Minor AAA Division play. To be eligible the parents must submit, in writing to the player agent, the desire to have their child reviewed to play up one division. If deemed qualified, the player will need to try out in both their current division and proposed division. To qualify for the higher division, the player will need to be drafted in 1 of the top 4 rounds of the player draft. If not drafted, the player will then play in their current league age division for the upcoming baseball season.
**** 5 and 6 year olds may play Rookie level ball if they have had previous experience in Tee Ball or other organized youth baseball.
